Run Jonah Run

Jonah 3:1-10

Jonah starts out running from God and he is running for God.

1. Jonah preaches – 1:14
   • and the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying; Arise And go unto Nianevah and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. “I am so glad God will speak again to us” Church God has called us all, All of us to preach and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
     Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.”
2. The people responded to what they heard.
   • They believed God’s Word
   • They proclaimed a fast
   • They They put on Sack cloth
   • They came together in Unity

Jonah 1:1-17

1. Jonah’s problem; His predicament; Gods’ assignment to Jonah and us.
2. Jonah tried to hide from God and man.(Verse 3)
3. Jonah saw God’s actions and His anger(Verse 4)
4. The Sailor’s tried to help Jonah(Verse 15), some you cannot help.
5. God’s Action: He prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah(Verse 17). He put Jonah in a safe place

Jonah 2:1-10

1. Jonah’s prayer-he cried out to God. He called God by His name. He hollered at God!
2. Jonah’s prayer turned to worship-“Prayer turned into praise”(Verse 9) But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving, I will pray that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.

• While we are praying and praise Him, give God the glory
• Jonah Prayed in His position-(to be in a tight spot).
